After talking with Chef Jean-Christophe Novelli and hearing about how much he liked our recipe kit concept, we couldn’t wait to get started on developing this exclusive recipe with him for our customers.
Of the 4 recipes that Jean-Christophe suggested to us from his repertoire, Coq au Vin avec Chocolat was the one that had us intrigued from the beginning and wowed us when we tasted it. We loved Jean-Christophe’s twist on this classic dish and his use of cocoa as a spice and thought it was the perfect twist for our “flavour fanatics” at SimplyCook. We also really enjoyed cooking according to his methods of making decadent meals as healthy as they can be by following a few simple techniques, like draining off any excess oil and rendering the fat off the skin on chicken thighs, which helps them get really crisp and crunchy too!
