Our 30 minute recipe
Heat the oven to 200C/ fan 180C/ gas 6 and boil the kettle. Cook the pasta following pack instructions, reserving 2 tbsps cooking water before draining.
Heat some oil in a pan over medium-high heat and fry the sausages for 5 mins, or until brown. Remove and keep aside. Add the red onion and fry for 5 mins. Add a knob of butter and the Chilli & Fennel Mix and stir well. Mix in the Smoked Salt & Chive pot and the passata. Add the Garlic Vegetable Stock pot with 120ml of boiling water and mix well.
Add the kale to the sauce and bring it to a gentle simmer. Cook for 3 mins, stirring often. Return the sausages to the pan then add the pasta and 2 tbsps of ricotta. Stir well. (Add 1-2 tbsps of pasta cooking water to the pan if the sauce looks dry.)
Tip the pasta mixture into a baking dish and top with little dots of ricotta here and there. Grate cheese on top and bake in the oven for 10 mins, then serve with salad on the side (optional).

Jade - Nov 08, 2018
Loved it, cooked extras... tasted even better the next day for lunch!!
Steve - Nov 08, 2018
Unfortunately one of the worst we’ve tried, the fennel was overpowering and the sausages weren’t cooked after just 5 minutes frying and then 10 minutes in the oven. The citrus flavour was overpowering too and I found myself thinking I could make a better pasta bake myself
Jill - Nov 08, 2018
Tasty, although I'm not a big kale fan.
Rachael - Nov 06, 2018
Unfortunately I am not a fan of the flavour of star anaise so this wasn’t for me but my husband loved it!
Elly May - Nov 05, 2018

Too much chilli & the fennel was overpowering.

Quite tasty but not my favourite pasta dish found it quite dry, used spinach rather than kale
Lisa - Oct 13, 2018
Very tasty but a little messy to make I found. Also, after cooking sausages the pan was too hot and the chilli and fennel burnt slightly very quickly. Other than that it was fine.
Vicki - Oct 13, 2018
Gorgeous meal best pasta bake I have ever had x
Dolina - Oct 12, 2018
I swapped the kale for baby spinach as kale would be too strong in flavour for both this dish and for the children.
