We bring these all together in a recipe kit, which consists of 3 flavour pots; a Chilli & Fennel Mix pot, a Smoked Salt & Chive pot and a Garlic Vegetable Stock pot. Simply follow our recipe, adding a few items from your fridge, to cook this delicious Baked Pasta with Sausage & Kale in just 30 minutes.

Our 30 minute recipe

  • 1.

    Heat the oven to 200C/ fan 180C/ gas 6 and boil the kettle. Cook the pasta following pack instructions, reserving 2 tbsps cooking water before draining.

  • 2.

    Heat some oil in a pan over medium-high heat and fry the sausages for 5 mins, or until brown. Remove and keep aside. Add the red onion and fry for 5 mins. Add a knob of butter and the Chilli & Fennel Mix and stir well. Mix in the Smoked Salt & Chive pot and the passata. Add the Garlic Vegetable Stock pot with 120ml of boiling water and mix well.

  • 3.

    Add the kale to the sauce and bring it to a gentle simmer. Cook for 3 mins, stirring often. Return the sausages to the pan then add the pasta and 2 tbsps of ricotta. Stir well. (Add 1-2 tbsps of pasta cooking water to the pan if the sauce looks dry.)

  • 4.

    Tip the pasta mixture into a baking dish and top with little dots of ricotta here and there. Grate cheese on top and bake in the oven for 10 mins, then serve with salad on the side (optional).

Unfortunately one of the worst we’ve tried, the fennel was overpowering and the sausages weren’t cooked after just 5 minutes frying and then 10 minutes in the oven. The citrus flavour was overpowering too and I found myself thinking I could make a better pasta bake myself
