“Keema Matar”, meaning spiced mince with peas is a traditional South Asian dry-style curry that’s simple to make, but really flavourful. We’ve done ours with lamb, though it can be done with any ground meat. It’s delicious with rice or wrapped in warm Indian naan breads like an Indian burrito, or in a bun as it’s eaten on the streets of Mumbai. If you’re lucky enough to have any leftovers, they’ll be even better the next day.

Cook our delicious Lamb Keema Matar in just Minutes

We’ve sourced and blended all of the unique flavour ingredients to make our authentic Lamb Keema Matar. We bring these all together in a recipe kit, which consists of 3 flavour pots; a Garlic Paste pot, a Keema Curry Paste pot and a Garam Masala pot. Simply follow our recipe, adding a few items from your fridge, to cook this delicious Lamb Keema Matar in just 25 minutes.

Our 25 minute recipe

  • 1.

    Cook the rice (optional)

If you’re having rice, cook it according to packet instructions and keep it warm.

  • 2.

    Meanwhile, start the keema

Heat a little oil in a pan over medium-high heat, then fry the onion for 5 mins.

Mix in the GARLIC PASTE, then add the lamb mince. Fry for 5 mins, breaking it up with a spatula.

  • 3.

    Add the curry paste

Stir in the KEEMA CURRY PASTE.

Add the tinned tomatoes, 1 tbsp of sugar and the GARAM MASALA. Stir well and bring it to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low and let it cook for 5 mins.

Add the peas and cook for 5 more mins.

  • 4.

    Toast the breads

Warm up the naan breads in a toaster or under the grill.

  • 5.

    Serve!

Serve the keema with naan breads on the side to eat it with (or over rice, if having). Put the cucumber and tomato salad and the yoghurt on the side (optional).

One of my favourites goes well with home made pilau rice

Ian - Nov 23, 2018

Most likely my culinary skills, or lack thereof, but was quite wet, and seemed to get wetter the longer I cooked it. Delicious though.

Sally - Nov 22, 2018

So easy to make and great flavours

Manishaa - Nov 22, 2018

Archibald G - Nov 18, 2018

Loved it. Served it with coriander naan, Tomato salad (don't like cucumber) and yoghurt which makes the dish so much nicer than with rice!

Toni - Nov 10, 2018

Nice dish

Paul - Nov 10, 2018

Loved it. Really tasty with spice but not stupidly hot at all.

Ripesh - Nov 10, 2018

Very tasty and authentic. The only thing to note is if you’re not using lean lamb, it will be too oily if you follow the recipe. I’d recommend frying the mince 75% of the way and then pouring away the fat. Then follow the recipe. It worded a treat for us.

Samantha - Nov 09, 2018

Very highly recommend this meal

Veronica - Nov 09, 2018

Not the tastiest curry kit but good for a quick mid- week meal

Anthony - Nov 07, 2018

Really enjoyed this meal with the fabulous blend of spices! Not too hot, but enough to leave a tingle on the lips. I

Richard - Nov 07, 2018

Really tasty treat!

Emma - Nov 07, 2018

Enough for 3. Wish I used 500g mince and whole tin of tomatoes to avoid waste, would then be enough for 4. Great with mint sauce in the yogurt.

Emma - Nov 06, 2018

We loved this. Enough for 3 people. I wish I had used 500g mince and 400g tinned toms to save wastage and I'm sure it still would have had plenty of flavor. Added mint sauce to the yogurt which went well with this dish.

Jill - Nov 06, 2018

lovely recipe

Jane - Nov 05, 2018

Delicious, more tomato, less lamb, spinach and extra chilli plus enough for 3 serves
