Our aromatic masala lamb chops with spiced potatoes offer a great way of enjoying classic Indian flavours with a twist. Whether you griddle the chops on the hob or grill them on the bbq, the lightly charred chops are great when dipped into the minty yoghurt raita. Crispy potatoes seasoned with a cumin and paprika based blend put an Indian twist on oven-baked wedges. Marinade the lamb for as long as you like on this one and you’ll be rewarded!

Our 20 minute recipe

  • 1.

Heat the oven to 220C/200C fan/gas 7. Marinate the lamb chops with the Masala Paste and set aside. Bring a pan of salted water to boil and par-boil the potatoes for 3-4 mins. Drain and let them air-dry in the colander for 1 min.

  • 2.

Put the potatoes onto a lined baking tray and sprinkle the Spice Blend over them as evenly as you can with a pinch of salt. Drizzle 2 tbsps of oil onto them and toss to coat. Bake for 20-25 mins, or until golden. Now continue with step 3.

  • 3.

Toss the red onion and tomato slices with salad leaves, if you have some, and arrange on plates. Swirl the Mint Chutney through the yoghurt in a small bowl.

  • 4.

Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat and fry the lamb chops for 3 mins on each side for medium rare. (You shouldn’t need oil but feel free to add some if it’s getting dry). Stand them up and fry them fat-side-down for 1-2 mins, then remove from heat to rest them.

  • 5.

Serve the lamb chops with some potatoes, salad and a spoonful of mint yoghurt on the side. Squeeze a lemon wedge or 2 over your lamb and salad and sprinkle over some chopped coriander leaves if you have them.

We all love this! Even my son who does not like lamb.

Amanda - Aug 14, 2018

Having had it before we made some changes. Pork instead of lamb, lightly fried the onion and the tomato, half the amount of yoghurt. So much better.

Lynsey - Mar 12, 2018

Loved this! I made with the chops with and without the Masala paste worried that my three kids wouldn't like it, but they loved it and I had to give up some of mine! Will make again.

Jo - Mar 09, 2018

Fantastic

christina - Mar 08, 2018

While this was lovely l found the seasoning was not enough for the lamb chops. Wedges were nice tho the mint yoghurt as hit and miss despite stiring in the mint we found it as either there but to much there and not enough or not there. Weould buy again tho.

Stephen - Mar 06, 2018

Didn't work ???? Masala overpowered the gorgeous delicate lamb flavour & had no depth just heat. Potato wedges had no discernable spice flavour. Tomato & Red Onion - although tasty, didn't seem to compliment the dish at all. The mint yoghurt was too sweet for my taste, and had a cloying texture.

Lisa - Mar 04, 2018

Amazing

Lisa - Mar 04, 2018

Amazing

Emma - Mar 03, 2018

Mint chutney that went in the yoghurt was a little to sweet and not enough spice in the other pots to counteract the sweetness

Jess - Mar 02, 2018

Amazing
