Folded flour tortillas are filled with cumin and chipotle spiced beef and black beans, oozing with melted cheese. Griddled until crispy, these quesadillas are best when paired with the traditionally zingy 'pico de gallo' salsa and dipped into a cooling Mexican BBQ style soured cream. A family favourite taken to another level by the classic sides, this is an all-round flavour sensation of different tastes and textures.

Cook our delicious Mexican Beef Quesadilla in just Minutes

We’ve sourced and blended all of the unique flavour ingredients to make our authentic Mexican Beef Quesadilla. We bring these all together in a recipe kit, which consists of 3 flavour pots; a Quesadilla Paste pot, a Pico de Gallo Salsa pot and a Mexican BBQ Sauce pot. Simply follow our recipe, adding a few items from your fridge, to cook this delicious Mexican Beef Quesadilla in just 30 minutes.

How Our Recipes Kits Work

We provide flavour ingredients:

  • Quesadilla Paste
  • Pico de Gallo Salsa
  • Mexican BBQ Sauce

Your shopping list:

lean beef mince
large red onion
tortillas (gluten free if necessary)
Cheddar cheese
soured cream
black beans (or kidney beans)(optional)

Our 30 minute recipe

  • 1.

Heat the oven to 160/fan 140/gas 3. Heat a little oil in a pot over a medium-high heat. Add half of the red onion and fry for 3-4 mins to soften. Add the beef mince and fry for 3-4 mins until it's coloured all over, breaking it up with a spatula. Add the Quesadilla Paste and half of your chopped tomatoes and mix well. Let it cook for 5 mins. If you're putting black beans in your quesadilla filling, stir them into the mince now.

  • 2.

For the salsa, put the other half of the red onion into a bowl along with the rest of your chopped tomatoes and mix in the Pico de Gallo Salsa. Keep aside. For your dipping sauce, mix the Mexican BBQ Sauce into your soured cream and keep aside.

  • 3.

Get out your largest frying pan and heat a little oil in it over a medium heat. Place a tortilla in the pan and sprinkle grated cheese over half of the tortilla. Spread a spoonful of the beef mince onto the cheese covered half of the tortilla. Add some of your Pico de Gallo salsa into the quesadilla if you like.

  • 4.

Top with more cheese and fold the other side of the tortilla onto the fillings side to make a half-moon shape. You can flatten the quesadilla with a spatula to help it stick together. Carefully flip the quesadilla over and let it cook on the other side for 2 mins, until lightly browned and crisp. Remove it from the pan and place in the oven on a tray to keep warm while you cook the others. Repeat with the rest of the tortillas!

  • 5.

When ready, cut the tortillas into wedges and serve with your salsa and your dipping sauce and some guacamole (if having).

Really good flavours. The salsa gives it a good kick, and the BBQ sour cream cools it down and adds a different flavour. Recommend homemade quacamole to go with it

Lindsey - Aug 08, 2018

Amazing! The two males in the house have rated it as their number one!!! Made some homemade guacamole to accompany and it was all great!!!

Triin - Aug 08, 2018

The salsa spice mixture is too salty. I have had it in other dishes and it doesn’t taste good. Hoping you can make changes to it. Otherwise a great dish

Absolutely gorgeous. Once you’ve assembled your quesadillas into half moons I recommend you only give them a minute max on each side, coz a couple of mine got a bit burnt, but even so they were blooming gorge & I’ll defo reorder this. The salsa & dipping sauce are delicious too, the salsa being quite spicy & too hot for our 8yr old daughter. Eating this was like being back on my honeymoon in Mexico.

Julie - Jun 08, 2018

Some lovely flavours, and the BBQ drip is really delicious. Very filling, in fact it could easily spread to feed four people with a few more fresh ingredients in the salsa. I used gluten free sweet potato wraps as they are more flexible. I would definitely recommend this.

Needs the beans and quarkamola. A lot of work but worth it
