We’ve sourced and blended all of the unique flavour ingredients to make our authentic Chinese Spiced Salad. We bring these all together in a recipe kit, which consists of 3 flavour pots; a Chinese Marinade pot, a Szechuan Five Spice pot and a Hoi Sin Sauce pot. Simply follow our recipe, adding a few items from your fridge, to cook this delicious Chinese Spiced Salad in just 20 minutes.

Your shopping list for 2 servings:

  • 2 sweet potatoes
  • 2 baby gem lettuce
  • 3 spring onions
  • half a cucumber
  • pack of four cooked beetroot
  • 1 avocado (optional)

Our 20 minute recipe

  1. Roast the sweet potatoes

    Heat the oven to 200C/fan 180C/gas 6. 

    Put the sweet potatoes on a baking tray and drizzle over 1 tbsp oil. Then sprinkle HALF OF THE SZECHUAN FIVE SPICE, mix well to coat and then bake in the oven for 10-15 mins, turning them over halfway.

  2. Prep the salad

    In a bowl toss the beetroot slices in the REMAINING SZECHUAN FIVE SPICE and keep to one side. 

    While you're waiting for the sweet potatoes to cook, create your salad in a mixing bowl using the baby gem lettuce leaves, cucumber, spring onion and avocado (if using)

  3. Roast the beetroot

    Remove the sweet potatoes from the oven, add the beetroot to the baking tray and drizzle the CHINESE MARINADE over all of the vegetables. 

    Return the tray to the oven for another 5-10 mins, or until the sweet potatoes are cooked through and golden.

  4. Serve

    Serve portions of the salad with the roasted beetroot and sweet potatoes on top. Drizzle over the HOI SIN SAUCE and serve.
