Jerk Chicken4.2/5 (BASED ON 1816 reviews)
Jerk Chicken - the most popular dish to be exported from Jamaica features succulent pieces of chicken marinated in a delicious, fiery jerk sauce and grilled until blackened and crispy. Normally an absolute scorcher with scotch bonnet chillies, we've toned down the heat in ours but kept the flavour big with over 21 ingredients alone in our Jerk Seasoning including allspice, thyme, ginger nutmeg and cinnamon. Incomplete without rice and peas, we show you how to create the authentic side to this Caribbean carnival of a dish in the comfort of your own home. No need to marinate for hours on end, we've packed all the flavour into our three little pots.
Cook our delicious Jerk Chicken in just Minutes
We’ve sourced and blended all of the unique flavour ingredients to make our authentic Jerk Chicken. We bring these all together in a recipe kit, which consists of 3 flavour pots; a Jerk Seasoning pot, a Jerk Paste pot and a Chicken Stock pot. Simply follow our recipe, adding a few items from your fridge, to cook this delicious Jerk Chicken in just 20 minutes.
How Our Recipes Kits Work
We provide flavour ingredients:
- Jerk Seasoning
- Jerk Paste
- Chicken Stock
Your shopping list:
- boneless chicken thighs
- Basmati rice
- tin light coconut milk
- tin kidney beans
Our 20 minute recipe
Heat the oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6 and boil 150ml water in the kettle.
Put the chicken thighs in a bowl and sprinkle the Jerk Seasoning all over. Mix well and then add the Jerk Paste and mix again to fully coat the chicken.
Place the chicken pieces on a baking tray with the lime wedges (if using) and cook in the oven for 20 mins.
Meanwhile, start step 3.
Heat a little oil in a non-stick pan over medium-high heat and then fry the onion for 2 mins to soften.
Add the rice, coconut milk, 150ml boiling water and the Chicken Stock to the pan and mix well.
Bring it to the boil, then cover with a lid, turn the heat down to low and let it simmer for 10 mins.
Stir the kidney beans into the rice then cover it again with a lid and leave it off the heat for 5 mins until all the liquid has been absorbed.
To serve, squeeze the roasted limes over the chicken (if using) and serve with your “rice and peas”.

Don’t know what I done wrong, followed the recipe but the rice was a mushy mess and very sloppy! Just wouldn’t dry out..! But chicken was very good :)

Nice jerk chicken not as hot as some but still delicious. Rice was delicious but lacked seasoning. The rice took way longer than in the recipe to cook but after eating this dish i would definately reccomend it. Very tasty and not the fiery jerk you may or may not like. Added nice baby spinach to the rice added coulor and vitamins.

Simply wow, the chicken slightly spicy cooked perfectly. The slow cooked rice was an ideal side for this dish. Add a few fresh tomatoes and enjoy this delicious meal.
