Goan Fish Curry4.5/5 (BASED ON 4128 reviews)
This incredibly aromatic curry is Inspired by the classic fish curry of Goa, India, which was in turn inspired by the Portuguese. We've taken our inspiration from the top Chefs of London who all prepare their Goan fish curry in slightly different ways. Our flavour pots nod to each of those Indian cuisine connoisseurs by bringing together the tangy tamarind, tomato and onion with the flavours of ginger, garlic, chilli and sweet cloves, all married by a rich coconut milk. Just close your eyes and pretend you're on the warm beaches of Goa!

Our 20 minute recipe

Create the curry base
Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan over medium-high heat and fry the onion and tomatoes for 3 mins to soften.
Add the GOAN PASTE and cook for 2 mins.
If you're making this with chicken, add it to the pan and cook for 3-4 mins, then continue with step 3.
Add the coconut milk
Add the coconut milk and COCONUT PASTE to the pan. Gently bring to the boil then turn down the heat and simmer for 5 mins, so that the sauce thickens slightly.
Stir in the SPICE BLEND then add the cod. Let it simmer for 5 mins, or until everything's cooked through.
Serve the rice and curry with some coriander on top and a squeeze of lime (optional).

Really lovely and very tasty. I added 400ml of full fat coconut milk as my 3 year old was eating it so didn't want it too spicy, but it was still really tasty!

So so good. Fish breaks up a bit though so leave in big chunks
Pamela - Jan 15, 2019
Great flavour. I would for my personal taste cook onions longer or dice finer still a bit crunchy for my taste also try with a little more coconut milk for more sauce.

John - Jan 14, 2019

Absolutely delicious - the star anise was stronger than I thought and normally I’m not keen, steer clear if you dislike liquorice flavours. So easy to make, we added cold water prawns too and used frozen cod (defrosted) which meant it wasn’t chunky but easy to devour!
Kirstyann - Jan 13, 2019
I used chicken instead of fish and it was one of the tastiest curries I've ever had
Angela - Jan 13, 2019
Great tasting! I recommend cutting the fish in bigger pieces and then it doesn’t break up. Excellent taste.
