This incredibly aromatic curry is Inspired by the classic fish curry of Goa, India, which was in turn inspired by the Portuguese. We've taken our inspiration from the top Chefs of London who all prepare their Goan fish curry in slightly different ways. Our flavour pots nod to each of those Indian cuisine connoisseurs by bringing together the tangy tamarind, tomato and onion with the flavours of ginger, garlic, chilli and sweet cloves, all married by a rich coconut milk. Just close your eyes and pretend you're on the warm beaches of Goa!

Cook our delicious Goan Curry in just Minutes

We’ve sourced and blended all of the unique flavour ingredients to make our authentic Goan Curry. We bring these all together in a recipe kit, which consists of 3 flavour pots; a Goan Paste pot, a Coconut Paste pot and a Spice Blend pot. Simply follow our recipe, adding a few items from your fridge, to cook this delicious Goan Curry in just 20 minutes.

How Our Recipes Kits Work

We provide flavour ingredients:

  • Goan Paste
  • Coconut Paste
  • Spice Blend

Your shopping list:

Basmati rice
large onion
cod fillet (or chicken breast)
tin coconut milk
lime (optional)
of coriander(optional)
plain yoghurt (to serve)(optional)

Our 20 minute recipe

  • 1.

    Cook the rice

Cook the rice according to pack instructions. Meanwhile start the curry.

  • 2.

    Create the curry base

Heat a little oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the onion and fry for 2 mins.

Add the tomatoes and the GOAN PASTE. Stir for 2-3 mins to soften the onion and tomatoes.

If you're making this with chicken, add it to the pan now and stir-fry for 3-4 mins, then continue with step 3.

  • 3.

    Add the coconut milk

Add the COCONUT PASTE and the coconut milk to the pan and gently bring to the boil. Then turn down the heat and simmer for about 5-7 mins until the sauce has thickened slightly.

Stir in the SPICE BLEND and then carefully add the cod (if using). Let the curry simmer for 3-4 mins, or until everything is cooked through.

  • 4.

Serve the rice in bowls and ladle the Goan curry over the top with a sprinkle of coriander and a squeeze of lime juice (if using).

Tip: Serve with plain yoghurt alongside for those who might find the curry spicy!

Slightly more kick than I’ve had before for Goan fish curry. It’s rich so you don’t need a huge portion, but very flavoursome and would cook again!
