We’ve sourced and blended all of the unique flavour ingredients to make our authentic Malaysian Laksa. We bring these all together in a recipe kit, which consists of 3 flavour pots; a Laksa Paste pot, a Chicken Stock pot and a Malay Garnish pot. Simply follow our recipe, adding a few items from your fridge, to cook this delicious Malaysian Laksa in just 20 minutes.

How Our Recipes Kits Work

  • Chicken Stock
  • Malay Garnish

Your shopping list:

light coconut milk
asparagus spears
boneless chicken thighs
fresh rice noodles (or 100g dried rice noodles)
butternut squash
of coriander(optional)
lime (optional)

Our 20 minute recipe

  • 1.

    Fry the chicken

    Heat a little oil in a large pot over medium heat and gently fry the butternut squash for 2 mins.

    Add the LAKSA PASTE and the chicken. Mix well and stir-fry for 3 mins.

  • 2.

    Add the coconut milk

    Boil 300ml water in a kettle and then pour it into the pot. 

    Add the CHICKEN STOCK and mix well. 

    Then add the coconut milk, stir well and bring it to the boil, then reduce the heat to medium and let it simmer for 5-7 mins. 

  • 3.

    Add the noodles

    Add the rice noodles, asparagus spears and MALAY GARNISH to the laksa and simmer for 3 more mins.

  • 4.


    Ladle your laksa into deep bowls and sprinkle with coriander (if using) and a squeeze of lime

I love this! So tasty, simple and quick. Instead of noodles, I used potatoes, carrots, spinach and broccoli... very nice! Next time I’d probably marinade the chicken in the sauce overnight to let it infuse the flavours, but lovely!

One of my favourite dishes from Simply Cook... the taste of the Malay laksa is something else and the lime coming through as the end is an explosion on the taste buds. Highly recommend this dish, absolute cracker.
