Smoked Haddock Kedgeree4.1/5 (BASED ON 815 reviews)
Our Smoked Haddock Kedgeree is a delicious meal to return home to after a busy day with a nice balance between spicy and smoky flavours. Our ingredient blends help you get the flavour spot on here. Kedgeree actually came to Scotland as a concept, brought back by British Colonials from India in the 1300’s. Commonly enjoyed at breakfast, we enjoy it at any time of day!
Cook our delicious Smoked Haddock Kedgeree in just Minutes
We’ve sourced and blended all of the unique flavour ingredients to make our authentic Smoked Haddock Kedgeree. We bring these all together in a recipe kit, which consists of 3 flavour pots; a Kedgeree Stock pot, a Curry Blend pot and a Lemon and Pepper Mix pot. Simply follow our recipe, adding a few items from your fridge, to cook this delicious Smoked Haddock Kedgeree in just 30 minutes.
How Our Recipes Kits Work
We provide flavour ingredients:
- Kedgeree Stock
- Curry Blend
- Lemon and Pepper Mix
Your shopping list:
- Basmati rice
- frozen peas
- smoked haddock
- eggs (medium)
- spring onions
Our 30 minute recipe
Preheat the oven to 200C/fan 180C/gas 6. Pour 400ml of boiling water into a jug and add the Kedgeree Stock. Mix well and put aside.
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a lidded, oven-proof pan over a medium heat and fry the Lemon & Pepper Mix for 30 secs. Stir in the rice and frozen peas.
Sprinkle in the Curry Blend and stir-fry for 1 min. Pour in the stock, mix in and bring to a simmer over a medium heat. Lay the haddock on top, gently pushing it into the stock. Cover with a lid and cook in the oven for 25 mins.
Meanwhile, hard-boil the eggs in a pan of boiling water for 8 mins, then remove and peel them under running cold water, for ease. Feel free to taste-check to see if the rice is close to being cooked after 20 mins. Add 50ml more water if it looks too dry (all ovens are different!)
Remove the kedgeree from the oven and leave to rest for 2 mins with its lid on. While waiting, cut the eggs in half. Remove the lid, add the spring onions and mix gently, flaking the fish a little bit as you mix it together.
Divide the kedgeree between 2 serving bowls, top with the eggs and garnish with coriander leaves, if using.

Lacks depth of flavour

Really enjoyed this even though it was quite spicy. Provided 2 very generous portions so think could easily make it stretch with some more rice/fish etc.

We've had this one twice and it's delicious. If you can't eat it all in one go, it's even nice cold later! I will be ordering it again

Great dish but needs more time in the oven than states in the method, for me it was around 40 mins for the rice to be soft enough, but this does mean that the fish should be added later during the oven cooking time otherwise it will be overcooked.

Nice dish but allow more cooking time, for me it was more like 40 mins in the oven for the rice not to be too hard and to have soaked up enough liquid.
