Achieving an authentic Paella at home might seem difficult but it can be done without a paella pan and with just a few ingredients. We've designed our blends to help you achieve the flavours of the Spanish seaside in your own kitchen. Our saffron and paprika blend will provide the key aromatics while the garlic and parsley notes lift the dish. For another dimension, add a splash of white wine, if you have some open, and a squeeze of lemon to serve would be ideal!

Our 25 minute recipe

  1. Start the base

Heat some oil in a wide frying pan over medium-high heat and fry the chicken (if using), until golden.

Add the onion, pepper, chorizo and PAELLA GARNISH and fry for 2 mins.

Pour in the chopped tomatoes, mix well and fry for 2 more mins.

  2. Add the rice

Boil a full kettle of water.

Add the rice, a splash of white wine (if using; see tip) and the SAFFRON SEASONING and stir well.

Stir in the PAELLA PASTE, then add 600ml of boiling water and mix well. Bring it back to the boil and then reduce the heat to medium-low and leave to cook for 15 mins (no lid).

TIP:  If you have some white wine open, add a splash into the rice and stir it in until it has been absorbed before pouring in the stock.

  3. Add the prawns

Stir the prawns and peas (if using) into the rice and cook for 5 more mins. Add 30ml of water if it’s looking dry, but a little crispiness at the bottom of the rice is tasty.

  4. Serve!

Squeeze some lemon juice over the paella, and serve with extra lemon wedges.

Worst one I have had. Nothing like paella I have had before, to much tomato in it and just tasteless. Not one I will get again

Tori - 17th September 2020

It was hard to get the paella paste off the spoon into the frying pan as it was so thick.

Made this pescatarian by leaving out the chorizo and chicken and added a bag of mixed seafood and hand full of langoustine / large prawns in shells (cooked in chilli garlic oil). Thus was wonderfulfull flavoured fish that went down a storm. There was a lot of it so froze enough for two small potions (perfect for lunch). Tip.... when re heating add water to moisten, defrost thoroughly and heat in a pan. Can over cook so be careful. Great recipe, I’d order this again.

AMAZING

If you are using chicken thighs I think the recipe should state whole or pieces? Also, I think its better if left to stand for a couple of minutes after cooking. Lovely though!
