Achieving an authentic Paella at home might seem difficult but it can be done without a paella pan and with just a few ingredients. We've designed our blends to help you achieve the flavours of the Spanish seaside in your own kitchen. Our saffron and paprika blend will provide the key aromatics while the garlic and parsley notes lift the dish. For another dimension, add a splash of white wine, if you have some open, and a squeeze of lemon to serve would be ideal!

Our 25 minute recipe

  1. Start the base

Heat some oil in a wide frying pan over medium-high heat and fry the chicken (if using), until golden.

Add the onion, pepper, chorizo and PAELLA GARNISH and fry for 2 mins.

Pour in the chopped tomatoes, mix well and fry for 2 more mins.

  2. Add the rice

Boil a full kettle of water.

Add the rice, a splash of white wine (if using; see tip) and the SAFFRON SEASONING and stir well.

Stir in the PAELLA PASTE, then add 600ml of boiling water and mix well. Bring it back to the boil and then reduce the heat to medium-low and leave to cook for 15 mins (no lid).

TIP:  If you have some white wine open, add a splash into the rice and stir it in until it has been absorbed before pouring in the stock.

  3. Add the prawns

Stir the prawns and peas (if using) into the rice and cook for 5 more mins. Add 30ml of water if it’s looking dry, but a little crispiness at the bottom of the rice is tasty.

  4. Serve!

Squeeze some lemon juice over the paella, and serve with extra lemon wedges.

Lovely and easy to cook. This is my favourite dish in general so ticks all the boxes for me. Not best I’ve ever had though ????

Shouldn't be turmeric should be saffron...too much smoked paprika

Jade - 9th July 2020

Really good dish, it an acquired taste, I never used the saffron in the rice and just added some chicken stock. I would buy again it was so filling and tasty.

I would say it has a bit too much of a tomato taste, perhaps decreasing the amount next time. Other than that, the lemon juice on top was just the finishing touch it needed!

Too much of a tomato for me personally, will add less next time.

Loved this! Full of flavour and easy to prepare and the mint sauce was delicious!

Marie - 4th July 2020

We cooked this for 4 using 2 boxes so not sure if it was overkill with the herbs and spices etc but it really wasn't nice at all.

Danielle - 2nd July 2020

Very tomatoey

Stephanie - 2nd July 2020

Not to our taste, it was ok.

Caroline - 1st July 2020

Nice flavour

I used chicken & chrizo as neither me or my husband like prawns. It smelt amazing but I would maybe use less of the saffron seasoning as it left my mouth tingling a little and stained my mouth yellow!! It was a tasty meal though!

A good paella, needed salted a bit and still worked well whilst using risotto rice.
