Achieving an authentic Paella at home might seem difficult but it can be done without a paella pan and with just a few ingredients. We've designed our blends to help you achieve the flavours of the Spanish seaside in your own kitchen. Our saffron and paprika blend will provide the key aromatics while the garlic and parsley notes lift the dish. For another dimension, add a splash of white wine, if you have some open, and a squeeze of lemon to serve would be ideal!

Our 25 minute recipe

  • 1.

    Start the base

Heat some oil in a wide frying pan over medium-high heat and fry the chicken (if using), until golden.

Add the onion, pepper, chorizo and PAELLA GARNISH and fry for 2 mins.

Pour in the chopped tomatoes, mix well and fry for 2 more mins.

  • 2.

    Add the rice

Boil a full kettle of water.

Add the rice, a splash of white wine (if using; see tip) and the SAFFRON SEASONING and stir well.

Stir in the PAELLA PASTE, then add 600ml of boiling water and mix well. Bring it back to the boil and then reduce the heat to medium-low and leave to cook for 15 mins (no lid).

TIP:  If you have some white wine open, add a splash into the rice and stir it in until it has been absorbed before pouring in the stock.

  • 3.

    Add the prawns

Stir the prawns and peas (if using) into the rice and cook for 5 more mins. Add 30ml of water if it’s looking dry, but a little crispiness at the bottom of the rice is tasty.

  • 4.

    Serve!

Squeeze some lemon juice over the paella, and serve with extra lemon wedges.

Bit tasteless for me but I did leave out the chicken as I'm not a fan so that could be why

Alan - Mar 09, 2019

Ooops... not to my taste/liking. I regularly cook Paella, but something about this one doesn't seem to be quite right. A very 'earthy' back-taste that bordered on unpleasant.

Shirley - Mar 09, 2019

Really quick and easy comfort food. Love it

Lindsey - Feb 26, 2019

Delicious and simple to cook

Charlotte - Feb 25, 2019

We really enjoyed this dish. Slightly concerned before cooking it due to other reviews but took on board some of the points. Used half the amount of tinned tomatoes and half the saffron. Added chicken thighs and chorizo plus peas and it was great. Would order this again.

Full of flavour, amazing

Helen - Feb 15, 2019

Usually I love paella but I found this recipe disappointing - unless I did something wrong!

Rachael - Feb 14, 2019

Really easy and nice flavours. I went with chicken as not keen on shellfish. I took other reviews onboard and just used half a tin of tomatoes which seems plenty.

Samantha - Feb 12, 2019

Did prawns and chicken, it was fab!

Susan - Feb 12, 2019

Relish
