This dish is an all time family favourite and everyone will enjoy it. It's a quick and easy recipe so it's ideal for when you want something delicious in next to no time. All you have to do is chop the onion and slice the mushrooms for prep. We've chosen penne because the hollow centre and the ridges allow it to hold the sauce just a bit better, making your meal even tastier. In the kit you'll find garlic paste, mushroom stock and porcini seasoning. The porcini mushrooms will give a pungent, woodsy flavour to this Wild Mushroom Penne - complementing the rich, milky flavour of the crème fraîche. Just top it off with a sprinkle of parsley and some grated parmesan to enhance the flavour. The mushroom stock in this recipe really is excellent - we hope you agree!

We’ve sourced and blended all of the unique flavour ingredients to make our authentic Wild Mushroom Penne. We bring these all together in a recipe kit, which consists of 3 flavour pots; a Garlic Paste pot, a Porcini Stock pot and a Porcini & Chive pot. Simply follow our recipe, adding a few items from your fridge, to cook this delicious Wild Mushroom Penne in just 20 minutes.

chestnut (or button mushrooms)
creme fraiche
dried penne
1 small bunch
grated Parmesan(optional)

Our 20 minute recipe

  • 1.

    Fry the onion

    Cook the pasta according to pack instructions. 

    Meanwhile, heat 1 tbsp of oil in a frying pan over a medium heat and fry the onion for 2 mins, or until it becomes translucent. 

  • 2.

    Add the mushrooms

    Add the GARLIC PASTE and the mushrooms to the pan and fry for 3 more mins over high heat.

    Reduce the heat and add the PORCINI STOCK, the PORCINI & CHIVE pot and the crème fraîche to the pan. Let it simmer gently for 2-3 mins. (Add a little more crème fraîche if it’s getting too dry.)

  • 3.

    Mix the pasta into the sauce

    When the pasta is done, collect 2 tbsp of cooking water using a mug, then drain the pasta and add it to the sauce.  

    Pour in the reserved cooking water and cook for 2 mins, stirring to fully coat the penne in the sauce. 

  • 4.

    Serve in bowls with a sprinkle of chopped parsley on top with grated parmesan (if using).
